Una luna mai così arancione spunta tra le colline, ecco Wow ponderoso nuovo disco dei Verdena

Beati i Verdena che possono permettersi di realizzare un doppio disco -27 tracce- ostico, poco godibile e diversissimo da tutti i loro precedenti lavori, che già avevano segnato una continua evoluzione sonora. Wow merita quindi un approccio graduale, onde evitare grida al capolavoro, così come incaute stroncature.

I riferimenti (e anche le citazioni) sono numerosi. Mi limito a citare i Sonic Youth e i Motorpsyco, più per attitudine che per un'effettiva somiglianza sonora. Proprio in questi giorni è in partenza il tour che vedrà Alberto, Luca e Roberta affiancati da un quarto elemento, Omid: musicista e cantante di alcune band lombarde che il trio di Albino ha fortemente voluto con sè per il tour. In attesa del live, Wow avrà tempo di sedimentarsi e di crescere, come sempre avviene per i dischi dei Verdena, nel mio gradimento personale. Roberto Conti
