very important question, because it is right to know what they would do the medical oncologists - those they use every day as chemotherapy on other people - if they had their cancer.
In March 2005 the Australian Senate was presented with a " survey on the services and treatment options for people with cancer ", produced by Cancer Information & Support Society of St. Leonards in Sydney (1).
According to this investigation, some scientists McGill Cancer Center in Montreal, Canada, sent to 118 doctors, experts in lung cancer, a questionnaire to determine what degree of confidence from their nourishment in the treatment applied, if they themselves had developed the disease.
said, 79 doctors and 64 of them would not have consented to undergo a treatment that contained cisplatin (a widely used chemotherapy based on platinum).
La conclusione, senza entrare troppo nel dettaglio, è la seguente: il tumore in Italia (solamente between chemo and radio, thus excluding surgery costs, hospital stay, various medications, medical equipment and nursing staff, the money swallowed up by industry to research, etc..) is undoubtedly one of the most costly disease, not only in terms of human lives, but especially from the economic point of view.
in the Appendix of the book were specially published more than two dozen "Bugiardini" of chemotherapy with their devastating side effects (leaflets), the costs official (declared by the respective production companies) of the most popular chemotherapy in circulation, to realize what was just said.
Any cancer treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy (with the exception of surgery, whose costs are comparable to those of chemotherapy), the national health system costs several hundred thousand euro.
One cancer patient.
seems impossible, but it is.
exemplary testimony was published by the weekly magazine "Gente " recently.
This is the story of Gennaro De Stefano, a very normal man who, in his " Diary of a cancer patient " tried to settle the " shopping list" for his illness.
After consulting doctors and photocopied the dies of the drugs, has put together all this information.
His ordeal began with two surgical procedures (such as biopsy of the bladder operation) and a hospital stay of 22 days for a total of 30,000 € [5]
The first round of chemo has cost € 9,000 and € 1,500 spent on each CT scan performed [6] (he has made over 20).
" A complete cycle of chemotherapy cocktails from a few thousand euro to as high as 50 thousand euro per month for each patient . [7]
"During the chemotherapy, which, of course, lowers white blood cells and red (not counting the amazing amount of support medicines for the stomach, intestines, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and so singing), it must undergo hormone treatments to help the growth of white blood cells. Usually take three or four injections that cost a 1,500 euro, 150 euro each other. Then comes the EPO, the hormone became known as the doping of cyclists, which costs from 500 to 1,000 EUR per injection. I'll be made of these bombs, to date, forty . [8]
He had to perform radiotherapy (6,000 €), a new surgery for some metastases (9,000 €), new radiation therapy, etc..
Score:
you have just read, unfortunately, is the procedure followed by the vast majority of cancer patients.
Multiply this figure by the number of patients old and new, and you'll see from the result that perhaps someone - and just maybe - not There is convenience in finding the ultimate solution to a disease that spread hundreds of billions of euro each year in Italy.
Each year, the "cancer lobbies" - only with new patients (270,000 people), and assuming that all fit into the treatment programs - moves to a higher figure of € 54 billion.
Fifty-four billion euro each year for a cancer treatment .
If we add all these sick people di cancro oggi in Italia (1 milione e 700 mila), che ripetono i trattamenti, che necessitano di trapianto di midollo, che muoiono nonostante, o per colpa delle terapie, ecc., tale cifra, come detto prima, raggiungerà i centinaia di miliardi di euro.
Pensate all ’industria della morte , meglio nota come “imprese funebri”.
Doxorubicin

- There is an established risk of developing anthracycline-induced cardiomyopathy and dose-dependent cumulative ;
- The risk of heart failure in cancer patients treated with doxorubicin persists throughout life ;
- may potentiate the toxicity of radiation therapy and other anti-cancer therapies;
- benign and malignant neoplasms;
