Now, it is being a new photo exhibition themed Rome. Photographs by Francesco De Marzio.
Among the photos, an extraordinary view of the church of St. Peter dall'Aventino, Ponte Milvio which is reflected in the Tiber and Piazza del Popolo.
Here is his introduction to the exhibition:
do not think anybody remember when the two interests came together certainly has been a long time ago, I mean a long time ago when we went to woo a girl at the florist, not the hardware.
later became friends, some say by choice while others argue that without knowing it, one day the date of which they forgot to write it down in the pages of the agenda of their messy lives. In their friendship with a few "but" a dash of "if" and a fair dose of "however," there was never room for the double portion of "giving and receiving, "or accounts of suffering, but an agreement is seasoned with ingredients easily found in the hasty and superficial knowledge of the counters of today's supermarket.
they love without ever said esserselo and bear dicendoselo daily, authorized by the complicity that demand that everything must be said today and immediately left the check for the wrong reason or the special court all'inflessibile resentment but the patient justice of the peace of indulgence. With the unconscious
enthusiasm they have in common are thrown into a company without that neither knew anything about the matter, and it is precisely the fact of "not being of the trade" has meant that Dune is not just a restaurant where you eat well for less just, but a special place where you go, more or less frequently, to enjoy the English ham, gnocchi with gorgonzola and pears, or the flesh of the fillet Dune (and so much more), but it is attended with the assiduity of a circle where the ritual enhances and always wonder, while yawning is left waiting in vain for his turn on the sidewalk outside the room.
uncommon course in place even the waiters are different. In fact I think it is simplistic to call them "waiters" at the request discreetly give you advice about the last concert of Vasco Rossi and the Rolling Stones, or where to go to hear good jazz or valuable information on the upcoming theater season.
I took as a habit to arrive well in advance of the time that I made an appointment, so much to experience the 'atmosphere of the artisan's shop where the workers arrive in dribs and drabs telling something never banal or if you feel like listening to to tell.
When I was asked to take photos of Rome for the Dune I did it gladly, seeing it as an insignificant contribution to reparation for all the times that morning at eleven o'clock or six o'clock in the afternoon, happened to be "accidentally" by those parts, I had lunch or dinner free of charge with Claudio e Piero prima di tuffarmi con loro in conversazioni serie , semiserie o piacevolmente cialtronesche, perché la vita è una cosa seria a patto di non prenderla seriamente.
From today a new photo exhibition with Rome as subject. Pictures are from Francesco de Marzio.
Between the pictures, A stunning view of the Saint Peter Church from the Aventino, Ponte Milvio reflecting in the Tevere river and Piazza del Popolo.
Probably none of them remember when they first met. It was years ago anyway, when dating still was a romantic stuff.
They then became friends, someone says it was a choice, other says it was a natural consequence, but there is no track in their life agenda. A clear and strong friendship, based on a deep knowledge with all the elements of the good ol' style friendship.
With the inner enthusiasm of the newcomers, they both entered in a totally new business. And this being absolute beginners is the reason why Dune is not only a restaurant where to eat well and spend a more than reasonable sum, it's not only a place where to eat English hams, Gnocchi with blue cheese and poirs, Dune filet, it's the place where to go as it was a club with established rituals.
In such a place, waiters cannot be considered as usual. And they can give you advice and comments on the last live exhibition from Vasco Rossi or The Rolling Stone or about the coming new theatre season.
That's why I usually get there earlier than expected, just to have a chat and to indulge in the aura of an artisan shop.
When I have been asked to shot Roma for Dune, I did it immediately and I consider it a tribute to Claudio and Piero for everytime I was passing there by chanche and stop to eat with them. And not only to eat but to have beautiful conversation, even the lighter one, because life is a serious thing but not to be taken seriously.
